Cirby Ranch Neighborhood Board Meeting 2/11/26
Planning, Finances, and 2026 Events
Feb 11, 2026 • 28 minutes, 35 seconds
Overview
The meeting covered approval of January minutes, the annual meeting schedule, year-end 2025 financials, potential collaboration with a neighboring association, ideas to boost meeting attendance, detailed planning for the April 16 "Sweet Celebration," the spring cleanup assignment on May 30, entrance maintenance plans, website updates, and next steps.
Administrative Updates
January minutes were distributed and posted on the website; no changes requested.
Annual meeting schedule reviewed; February invite sent, remaining dates to be added to calendars.
Board confirmed as official for 2026.
Financials (Year-End 2025)
2025 starting balance: $2,814.68; 12/31/25 ending balance: $2,435.
Key expenditures: last year’s sweet celebration, the carnival, and the July 4th flag.
Incoming funds: donations at neighborhood night out; reimbursement of $200 toward that event.
No new income or expenses since year-end reporting; the report is shared annually with the broader organization.
2026 outlook: potential revenue from a fireworks stand opportunity, volunteer staffing of voting stations (volunteer hours contribute funds to Cirby Ranch), and sponsor representation on the website supporting eligibility for disbursements. Further updates pending from RCONA finance on disbursements.
Potential Collaboration with Neighboring Association
Discussion with Bonnie (not present) to be carried to March: they have a park on the Cirby Side and a physical location at the ice rink offering free meeting space.
Goal: increase meeting attendance across neighborhoods.
Clarifications: no merger of neighborhood associations; independent boards and budgets remain. Joint events may have equal contributions.
Ideas to Boost Meeting Attendance
Hold a summer “event meeting” (e.g., June or July) with a home-cooked barbecue to attract families; a member volunteered to cook to minimize costs.
Possibly include Kona Ice at the event.
Sweet Celebration (Thursday, April 16, 6–9, Johnson Hall at the grounds)
Venue and parking donated to RCONA. Larger space than last year; aim to improve the event.
Nomination request: CRNA nominee (person or organization) for volunteer contributions to Roseville; last year, Kirby Ranch recognized Haley.
Silent auction: request for two donations from each neighborhood association.
Donation updates: one member will not have Oakland A’s tickets this year; another reported last year’s boat voucher winner is using it now and may donate again if the ROI works out.
Food donations: seeking Roseville business donations of “sweets or bites” (including hors d’oeuvres) with a minimum of 50 pieces; active outreach underway. A member is contacting an events company friend.
Kona Ice: possible truck attendance, subject to indoor venue regulations—confirmation needed.
Table purchase: approximately $250 for 8–10 seats. Planned attendees include the organizer and Mary; one member has a scheduling conflict and cannot attend; “Eric and I” expressed interest, also David Douglas and spouse; later, Jen and Adam joined the call and confirmed “100%” attendance. Proceeding to secure a table.
Spring Cleanup Event (May 30 Assignment)
Annual RCONA spring cleanup across set locations; Cirby Ranch is assigned to May 30.
Volunteers encouraged, especially students; participation counts toward RCONA Scholarship Fund eligibility.
Information to be posted on the website and Facebook; a Sign-Up Genius exists and will be shared with board members.
Cirby Entrance Maintenance and Tree Incident
Planned tasks: coordinate spreading tan bark at the Cirby entrance and reseal the entrance sign (to refresh weathering after two years). Volunteer call to follow.
Incident: the dead tree behind the entrance wall fell during the last windstorm; the city cleaned it up, and the tree damaged part of the wall.
City maintenance: trims shrubs at the entrance but does not handle ground cleanup. There is irrigation, but without ground cover, plants die by late summer.
Corner property: recent reports suggest owners may have moved back in; consensus was that permission is not required for placing bark on the front entrance area in front of the wall (do not enter or alter private yard space).
Website Updates
Website refreshed for Spring with photos, Cirby Ranch/RCONA/Roseville events, and ways to connect.
Search visibility improved with town assistance; site now appears when residents search “Cirby ranch neighborhood association.”
Next Steps
Send calendar invites for all 2026 meeting dates.
Monitor RCONA finance updates and potential disbursements; record 2026 transactions as they begin.
Follow up with Bonnie and schedule the March discussion on collaboration and meeting space.
Evaluate and plan a summer barbecue “event meeting,” including potential Kona Ice participation.
Identify the CRNA nominee; secure two silent auction items from Cirby Ranch.
Continuing business outreach for 50-piece food donations; confirm Kona Ice feasibility for the Sweet Celebration venue.
Purchase the April 16 table; confirm final attendee list.
Promote the May 30 spring cleanup; distribute Sign-Up Genius; highlight scholarship eligibility for students.
Announce tan bark spreading and entrance sign sealing; recruit volunteers; maintain clear boundaries on private property.
Post additional information on the website and Facebook as details are finalized.
